This fossilised plant resin, sometimes referred to as Sun Tears can help to unlock secrets of the past, sometimes harbouring insects, leaves, flowers and even small animals!
The resin could have been released for a variety of reasons, including healing wounds, expelling disease, as an occurrence of rapid growth or to attract/repel insects. The extremely sticky substance would have then trapped any small items in their place.
